Meet the U16 Girls

The Halton Farnworth Hornets U16 girls team comprises girls from school years 10 and 11 from in and around the Halton borough area.

Girls’ rugby is quickly evolving and there are great opportunities for any girls who would like to get involved. By its very nature, rugby is an inclusive sport, with player positions requiring different attributes, so no matter what your stature or talent, there is a place for everyone.

The U16’s girls are a friendly bunch and welcome new team members, including those who do not have any experience, so why not give it a go?

Now for some info about the team.

Having successfully won the Northwest Regional League in 2023, last year saw us move up to the Premier League, competing against teams from across the Northwest and Yorkshire. Moving up to the Premier League proved to be a real challenge, however it was a great learning opportunity for the team, with a number of our girls being selected by local Super League teams to enrol on the Pathway to Performance scheme organised by the RFL.

The 2025 season sees us moving back to the Northwest Regional League where we will be competing once again against some of our local rivals, as well as teams that will be new to us this season. This season promises to be exciting as we challenge once again for the Northwest Regional League title!
