Stingo & Griffo

Meet The Mascots

Stingo the hornet and Griffo the griffin are the beloved mascots of Halton Farnworth Hornets, a local rugby club based in Halton. Stingo, with his black and yellow stripes, and Griffo, with his powerful talons and beak, are a dynamic duo that bring cheer and excitement to every game.

On game days, Stingo and Griffo can be seen buzzing and strutting around the field, greeting fans and pumping up the crowd. They are especially popular with the younger fans, who loved getting high-fives from Stingo’s tiny hands or posing for selfies with Griffo’s impressive stature.

But their duties as mascots go beyond just entertaining the fans. Stingo and Griffo are also responsible for motivating the team, both on and off the field. They visit the players before games, buzzing and squawking around and offering words of encouragement.

And when the team needs a boost, Stingo and Griffo  take center stage, leading the crowd in cheers and chants. Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and the players  respond with renewed vigor and determination.

Thanks to Stingo and Griffo’s contributions, Halton Farnworth Hornets has become more than just a rugby club. It was a community, bound together by a shared love of the sport and a pair of unforgettable mascots.
